The Atlanta Falcons have placed WR Dez White on the injured reserve due to a sprained knee, ending his season. The move also means that White could have played his final game as a Falcon.

White began the season as a starter for the Falcons, but was demoted two months ago. White has been inactive for four of the past six games.

The loss of White should not hurt Atlanta too much. In six games this year, White had two catches for 25 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons also announced that Ronnie Heard will start at free safety this week, replacing Bryan Scott. The move was made in search of a better player.

"He's productive and he's made plays on the ball," Mora said. "We just want to get a little spark going and make a change. We're hopeful that Ronnie can provide a little spark for us."
