The Atlanta Falcons have signed former Buffalo Bills safety Lawyer Milloy to a three-year deal worth about $6 million. Milloy was cut by the Bills in a salary cap related move.

Last year, Milloy had 170 tackles for the Bills, which ranked tenth in the league. He played through the season with a broken thumb that he suffered in Week 2. The Falcons were in need of a reliable safety. Last year, Bryan Scott and Keion Carpenter were their safeties. Scott lost his job later in the season while Carpenter will be coming off of serious knee injury.

The Falcons are coming off of a poor season and need all of the help they can get to return to the top of the NFC.
