With the Atlanta Falcons already thin on proven receivers, they received terrible news on Sunday when veteran Brian Finneran was carted off the field due to a serious knee injury. Finneran injured himself in a drill against second-round draft pick cornerback Jimmy Williams. Finneran tried to cut inside, and that's when he injured the knee.

"Once we look at the film, we'll probably see it was more of a non-contact injury than anything," said Falcons coach Jim Mora. "Sometimes you plant and your knee gives. It looks like it's serious, but we're going to wait until we get the MRI to confirm it."

Finneran was the Falcons' leading receiver last year, and he only had 50 catches for 611 yards and two touchdowns. With Finneran gone, young receivers Roddy White and Michael Jenkins will probably see a lot more reps. Both men are former first-round draft choices.

Unfortunately for Finneran, it looks like his season may be over.
