The NFL suffered another loss when former Los Angeles Rams WR Ron Jessie passed away at age 57 after suffering a heart attack in his Huntington Beach home Friday. Jessie was drafted in the eigth round of the 1971 draft by the Dallas Cowboys, and then traded to the Detroit Lions. He spent four seasons with the Lions before being traded to the Rams in 1975 for a first-round draft pick.

Jessie's best year was in 1976 when he made the Pro Bowl after catching 34 passes for 779 yards and six toughcowns. He retired after the 1981 season. In total, he had 138 catches for 4,276 yards and 30 touchdowns during his career.
