He's had a good season, but the injuries for Jaguars running back Fred Taylor never seem to stop. Taylor will miss this week's big game against the New England Patriots with a hamstring injury. Taylor hurt his right hamstring back on December 10th against the Indianapolis Colts, and re-aggravated it early in the first quarter last week against the Tennessee Titans.

"He's just not ready to go," said head coach Jack Del Rio. "We'll give him the weekend to rest it, and hopefully we'll have him back at practice next week."

Rookie running back Maurice Drew will start in Taylor's place, meaning LaBrandon Toefield will serve as his primary backup. This season, Taylor was averaging 5.0 yards per carry. The Jaguars may not suffer too much of a setback with Drew starting, considering he is averaging 5.7 yards per carry to go along with ten touchdowns on the ground this season. Still, having both backs would have added a nice complement with the team still in the thick of the playoff race.

"I think that it's the smart thing to do at this point," Taylor said. "For my future, my well being ... I don't want to rip it. I don't want to tear it. I have all the faith and confidence in my team to get this win on Sunday."
