Indianapolis Colts star defensive end Dwight Freeney may not be able to participate in the mini-camps that begin in July after having shoulder surgery.
Colts head coach Tony Dungy revealed Freeney's surgery during the rookie minicamp.
"He had shoulder surgery a couple of weeks ago -- just a cleanup," Dungy said. "We kind of knew that it was coming. (They) had planned on doing it after the Pro Bowl. We expect him to be full-go right around the beginning of camp."
Freeney is the Colts best player defensively, and one of the best defensive players in the NFL. He had 16 sacks last season.
