Cleveland, OH. (PFCritics) -- The New Orleans Saints signed fullback Mike Karney to a four-year extension on Thursday, which will keep him under contract for five more years. Karney was a 5th-round draft pick for the Saints in 2004 and has started 22 games for the Saints. Since fullback Terrelle Smith left to go to the Cleveland Browns, Karney has been the primary fullback for them.
Although he's primarily used as a blocker, he also has 16 catches for 103 yards and nine carries for 19 yards during his career. He will be blocking for running backs Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush this year.
