News York Giants cornerback will be out indefinitly with a back injury. Peterson experienced a back injury in 2003, when he missed most of the season.

"Will had a stress fracture in his back two years ago," said the Giants team physician. "At that time, we held him out for the remainder of the season and it has not been an issue for him since then. The bone scan that we administered this week shows signs that he is developing a stress fracture on the other side of the same bone."

Second-year man Curtis Deloatch or rookie Corey Webster will start in place of Peterson this week.
