Kurt Warner will be the opening day starter for the New York Giants. The announcement came after first round pick Eli Manning struggled against the New York Jets this past week. Eli threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball once. Warner in the game was 9 of 11 for 104 yards.

If the Giants struggle early in the season, there is a very strong chance that Eli will take over the quarterback position. If the Giants do well with Warner, he will probably continue to start. If he fails and the season is done for, then it will be better to give Eli some experiance.

"We give Kurt the ball and say, 'Kurt, let's go win,'" Coughlin said.
