Injuries occur often in the NFL. The most common injuries occur during an actual play on the field, or during training camp. Occasionally, an injury can occur outside of football, like the motorcycle accidents regarding Kellen Winslow and Ben Roethlisberger. However, there's something else players will have to watch out for now: team mascots.

New Orleans QB Adrian McPherson had to be taken to the locker room in the third quarter of the exhibition game against the Tennessee Titans after suffering a bruise. The Titans' mascot was driving a golf cart during half time, and ran the cart into McPherson, who is in his second season.

The injury cost McPherson, the 4th-string quarterback, at a shot at playing late in the game. He should be ok after the bruise settles down.
