-
The Jacksonville Jaguars have released wide receiver Troy Edwards. Edwards was the team's second-leading receiver last year when he caught 50 passes for 533 yards and one touchdown.

Edwards was not a major factor in the Jaguars offense though, and was replacable when the Jaguars drafted receivers Matt Jones and Chad Owens in this years draft. Jones was taken in the first round and Owens was taken in the sixth round.

Jimmy Smith and Reggie Williams will likely be the team's opening day starters. Williams was taken in the first round by the Jaguars last year.
