The Jacksonville Jaguars have acquired LB Jamie Winborn from the San Francisco 49ers for an undisclosed draft pick. Winborn has started two of the three games for the 49ers this year. Winborn lost his job to Andre Carter though, and Winborn was upset that Mike Nolan announced last week that he would be traded.

Winborn had 156 tackles, nine sacks, and three interceptions during his four-plus years with the 49ers.

Jacksonville released defensive tackle Martin Chase to make room for Welborn.

"It was an opportunity to acquire a linebacker who's a good player and fits our system," said Jaguars' head coach Jack Del Rio. "It wasn't anything that was too costly or too difficult to pull off."

It is unclear whether Welborn will start right away or not, but he will see some playing time.
