Baltimore Ravens running back was suspended for two games by the NFL, and he will not appeal the suspension. The suspension will not be served this week against the Washington Redskins. In fact, Lewis will not serve the suspension until October 24th, when the Ravens take on the Buffalo Bills. He will miss the next week too, when the Ravens take on the Eagles.
Two games without Jamal Lewis could cost the Ravens a chance at the division this season. They are already 2-2, and struggling offensively.
The Ravens do have two fairly reliable backups in Chester Taylor and Musa Smith. Taylor will get the start in Lewis' absence.
