Cleveland, OH. (PFCritics) -- Miami Dolphins first-round draft pick Jason Allen had arthroscopic knee surgery recently, according to his agent, Mitch Frankel. However, Allen should be ready to go by the time training camp starts on July 28th.
"It was just a cleanup procedure, nothing more," Frankel said. "His rehabilitation is going well. If camp started today, he would be ready."
Allen, who the Dolphins expect to contribute at the safety position, will also begin contract negotiations soon. He was the 16th overall pick in the draft.
"We have talked one time," Frankel said, "but I'm optimistic. Both sides are committed to getting it done."
