According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jeff Garcia probably will not be back with the Eagles next season. The Eagles are definitely interested in keeping Jeff Garcia next season, due to how critical he was down the stretch after Donovan McNabb suffered a season-ending injury.
However, like most situations, the problem will come with money and the potential to start. The Eagles are heading into free agency with only around $13 million, and they probably won't be able to afford to sign Garcia and sign other people to improve their team. Also, the Eagles already have another backup quarterback in A.J. Feely on their roster that they would be comfortable in leading their team.
Several teams are already expressing an interest in Garcia - the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in particular. Both teams run West Coast offenses, something that Garcia is obviously very accustomed to. If Garcia were to sign with either team, he would probably only be a short-term plan until the team can step up and become a contender again.
