The New York Jets have released veteran safety Reggie Tounge after spending just one season with the team. Tongue started all 16 games for the team last season.

Tongue was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1996, and played four years with the Chiefs, followed by four years with the Seahawks before spending last season with the Jets.
