The New York Jets have signed quarterback Jay Fiedler to replace Quincy Carter as Chad Penningtons backup. Fiedler, who has spent the past few seasons with the Miami Dolphins, should be fairly used to the Jets, as he has faced them several times.

Pennington had shoulder problems this year, so the Jets now have a reliable backup in case Pennington goes down.
