The Kansas City Chiefs signed defensive end Tamba Hali on Friday, just before the start of training camp. Hali was the Chiefs first-round draft pick back in April, and he signed to a five-year deal. Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards expects Hali to improve the Chiefs poor defense in regards to sacks from last season.
"I was cautiously optimistic we could get something done (with Hali) before training camp," said Chiefs president Carl Peterson. "I know he was excited to get it done."
At 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, Hali was the 20th overall pick coming out of Penn State. Last year, Hali recorded 51 tackles and six sacks.
