After being heavily rumored to sign with either the Seattle Seahawks or the Cleveland Browns,
Kris Dielman made a move that not many top players would: he stayed loyal to his original team. The Chargers re-signed the offensive lineman to a six-year deal worth $39 million, including $17 million guaranteed in the first two years according to reports. Dielman's motivation to return to San Diego had a lot to do with having running back
LaDainian Tomlinson on the team.
"I want to stay here," Dielman stated back on Wednesday. "They gave me my opportunity. I want to be loyal. But they've had a year to do it."
Dielman was an undrafted free agent when he came to the Chargers. Dielman was considered the second best lineman in this year's free agency, with
Eric Steinbach being the only man ahead of him. Steinbach signed with the Browns on Friday.
