The Kansas City Chiefs have signed offensive tackle Kyle Turley to a two-year deal. Turley has missed the past two seasons to a back injury, dating back to when he was with the St. Louis Rams. He started every game in 2003 for the Rams, but was released in 2004 after suffering the injury.
Turley has cut his weight down from 200 pounds to 260 pounds. Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson expects Turley to compete for the starting right tackle position. If he doesn't win the job, he will back up left tackle Willie Roaf in all liklihood.
Turley was originally a first-round draft pick in 1998. Turley has been known as a controversial player in the past, but has always played solid at his position.
