The Denver Broncos have exercised the option for the remaining five years of wide receiver Javon Walker's contract, according to the Denver Post. Walker was almost the Broncos only offensive threat this season, recording 69 catches for 1,084 yards. The Broncos wanted to make sure he performed well last season after coming off a serious knee injury the year before.
Meanwhile, Kansas City Chiefs running back is searching for a large contract extension after carrying an enormous load this past season, breaking an NFL record for carries. Johnson could be looking for a deal similar to what San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has (eight years, $60 million).
"Hes done everything Ive asked him to do and more," said Carl Peterson last month, the Chiefs general manager. "Hes certainly proved himself and established himself."
The Chiefs also would like to see if running back Priest Holmes had an interest in returning this season.
