Arizona Cardinals running back Marcell Shipp will be out for 8-12 weeks after suffering a broken leg. Shipp was the Cardinals leading rushing last season, but Emmitt Smith had already been named the starter. If Smith struggled, Shipp would likely be in often, but that's not possible now.
Running backs Damien Anderson and Josh Scobey will now compete for the currently vacant number two spot at running back.
This is a big blow to Arizona's offense, because they have two fantastic wide receivers in Boldin and Fitzgerald, and needed a good running back in case Emmitt Smith struggles again.
