Things aren't getting off to the best start for the first overall pick in the draft. Mario Williams missed the Houston Texans' practice on Wednesday morning due to an infection in one of his toes. Texans' head coach Gary Kubiak stated that Williams would be ok, but that his toe was "throbbing and really bad" during the night.
"I think he could have practiced this morning; I just didn't like the night he had," said Kubiak. "We'll get him some rest today and expect him to be back tomorrow."
Williams had similar toe problems back in June, after he had the toenails removed from both of his big toes due to infections. However, neither incident is related.
PFC Analysis: It may not seem like a big team, since it's just a toe. However, as you've seen with players before, toe injuries can actually put a negative spin on the way a player plays. Fortunately, Williams' toe injuries are not too serious, and he should be fine.
