Amidst the biggest game of the season this Sunday between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, Bill Belichick may already be able to chalk an advantage up on the board: he may not have to worry about Marvin Harrison. Harrison sat out of practice again on Thursday with a bruised left knee that has caused him to miss two of the team's past three games already. While Harrison is looking forward to playing in a big-time game, he may not physically be up to doing so.
Why would they make Belichick happy? Harrison has thrived historically against New England compared to Reggie Wayne.
Regular Season Stats for Harrison
-
2004: 7 catches, 44 yards, 1 touchdown
-
2005: 9 catches, 128 yards, 2 touchdowns
-
2006: 8 catches, 145 yards, 2 touchdowns
-
2006: 4 catches, 41 yards (Conference Championship)
Peyton Manning and the Colts' offense have been fine without Harrison over the past two weeks against a couple of tough defenses, including most of the action against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Carolina Panthers. Wayne, Dallas Clark, and Anthony Gonzalez will certainly have to pick up the slack against what has appeared to be an all-around dominating team though.
