Tennessee Titans rookie QB Matt Mauck will probably see some playing time this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mauck is the third-stringer behind QB Billy Volek, but the coaches want to see what he has.
"What we did today, we got Matt Mauck the reps in the event that Steve can't play, we'll have an opportunity in the ballgame to get Matt some playing time," said Titans' head coach Jeff Fisher. "We know what Billy can do. Billy's done a great job for us as a reliever off the bench, as a starter. He's won games for us. We don't know much about Matt."
Mauck saw some playing time in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals after Steve McNair and Billy Volek were out with injuries. He went 8-for-13 for 71 yards. He also ran the ball four times for 20 yards.
Mauck, who attended LSU, was a seventh-round draft pick in 2004 for the Denver Broncos.
