-
The San Francisco 49ers signed kicker Luis Berlanga to a deal on Wednesday. Berlanga, who is from Mexico, is considered by many as one of the best field goal kickers in Mexican history. In 2004, Berlanga set records at Northwest Missouri State by making 73 consecutive PATs. He also made 16 field goals that season.

At 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, Berlanga will try to compete for a spot on the 49ers roster. He spent some time on the Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers practice squad in the past.
