After rumors of Vikings head coach Mike Tice being fired after this season for not winning the NFC North race had started, they can be put to rest for now. The Vikings have exercised Tices' option for the year 2005.

The Vikings have not officially clinched the playoffs, but they can do so with a Rams loss tonight.
