The Carolina Panthers planned on having a two headed running attack this season. Both of them have battled injuries this season, and we now know for sure than running back DeShaun Foster will miss the rest of the season. He will need to have surgery to repair his broken collarbone.

Foster was placed on the IR. Starting running back Stephan Davis did not play due to injury against the Chargers, so they had to rely on fullback Brad Hoover. To replace Foster, the Panthers are giving veterans Stacey Mack and Skip Hicks a try out.

Rod Smart, third on the depth chart heading into the season, is still battling injuries as well. After this being a season with nothing but potential for the defending NFC Champions, they are all but out of the playoff race already due to many injuries.
