The Carolina Panthers had to release all-pro wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad after the team count not re-negotiate his contract. By releasing Muhammad, they will not have to pay him a $10 million dollar signing bonus.

Muhammed wasn't thought to be the Panthers go to guy this past season. But when Steve Smith went down, Muhammad really stepped his game up. He caught 93 passes for 1,405 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The combination of Delhomme to Muhammad was strong this season, but it could be a step back for the Panthers who nearly made the playoffs this season despite all of their injuries.
