The Washington Redskins are back into some familiar territory with their kicker situation. The Redskins signed kicker Nick Novak for the second time in two years after he won a four-ay competition between free agents on Tuesday. The Redskins needed a new kicker after placing John Hall on the injured reserve, cutting his season short for the third straight season. He missed eight games in 2004, and six games last season.

Hall had two injuries this season; a strained groin and a strained quadriceps. Novak, who will take over for Hall this season, played in five games for Hall last season. He was 5-of-7 last year with Washington, with both of his misses coming on blocks. Novak also played for the Arizona Cardinals last season, and went 3-of-3 with them.
