After rumors that Brett Favre may decide to retire after this past season, Favre put those to rest when he confirmed that he will play in the 2005 NFL season. Packers head coach Mike Sherman told the AP that Favre will return for possibily longer than the 2005 season due to the fact that Favre's wife is doing well in her recovery from breast cancer.

Favre has had to deal with many personal issues in his life the past few seasons, but he has overcome them and been able to play. Last season ended on a bad note for Favre, when he did not play up to his potential in a loss to the Vikings in the playoffs.

Favre is very well liked around Green Bay, and the fans are thrilled to have him back.
