The Olympian won't have a chance to play this season. The Philadelphia Eagles placed wide receiver Jeremy Bloom on the injured reserve Tuesday due to hamstring injury. Bloom was supposed to be eligible to enter the league last year, but he accepted endorsements for his skiing career and was not permitted to continue playing football.

At 5-foot-9 and 172 pounds, Bloom was supposed to help an Eagles receiving group that was lacking experience. He was selected in the fifth round, and was known for his speed and big-play ability in college. Bloom missed most of the preseason and training camp due to his injury.

The Eagles also had some help at receiver when they acquired Donte Stallworth two days ago.
