The Green Bay Packers released cornerback Ahmad Carroll after a bad game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night. Carroll was a first-round draft choice in 2004, and started in 28 of his 34 games with the Packers. During his career, he's had 104 tackles, three interceptions, three sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Against the Eagles, Carroll made two errors that led to touchdowns. On the first one, he blew his coverage, allowing the Eagles to take a 17-9 lead. On the second one, he had a big penalty, leading to another touchdown. He had nine tackles and one sack this season, and should have a good chance at getting signed by another team soon. He would definitely be serviceable as a backup.
