The Green Bay Packers signed cornerback Al Harris to a two-year contract extension, adding to the three years he already had remaining. His new deal will keep him with the team until 2011, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The extension apparently includes two roster bonuses that total $4.5 million.
Harris has been a starter for the Packers since the team traded for him back in 2003. Harris had 41 tackles and three interceptions this past season, and has a total of 17 interceptions throughout his career. The Packers want to build their defense, and making sure Harris stays on for additional years was important for the secondary unit.
