The Carolina Panthers signed five of their eight draft picks on Thursday. The team signed linebacker James Anderson, offensive lineman Rashad Butler, tight end Jeff King, guard Will Montgomery, and defensive lineman Stanley McClover.
King, who was the first draft pick to officially sign with the Panthers, attended Virginia Tech for college. A fifth-round draft pick, King stands in at 6-foot-3 and weighs 253 pounds. During his college career, he caught 58 passes for 724 yards and 11 touchdowns. Anderson, a linebacker selected in the third-round from Virgina Tech as well, has a chance to compete for a starting job. Butler was also a third-round pick, but from Miami instead.
At the moment, the team still needs to sign first-round running back DeAngelo Williams, second-round cornerback Richard Marshall, and fourth-round safety Nate Salley.
