The Dallas Cowboys signed wide receiver Patrick Crayton to a four-year extension worth $14 million on Thursday. His deal includes $6 million in guaranteed money, according to Frederick Lyles, Crayton's agent.
Crayon has stepped in well for receiver Terry Glenn this season, who has missed the entire season thus far with an injury. Crayton is third on the team with 48 catches for 689 yards and seven touchdowns. Those numbers are solid when you consider that Terrell Owens and Jason Witten are two of the best players in the league at their respective positions. Lyles stated that while Crayton could've made more money as a free agent, he was more than content to continue on with the situation he's currently in.
"He could have easily secured more money on the open market," Lyles said. "But his family is here. His wife and child and mother and siblings, they all live in Dallas. He was more concerned about not uprooting his family."
