The New England Patriots placed safety Eugene Wilson on the injured reserve Monday due to hamstring and groin injuries that have kept him out for most of the season. The Patriots hope that Rodney Harrison, who is injured as well, will be able to return at some point.
To fill Wilson's roster spot, the team signed veteran defensive back Ray Mickens to a deal. Mickens played in all 16 games for the Cleveland Browns last season. Before being with Cleveland, he had played nine seasons with the New York Jets.
