The New England Patriots have traded wide receiver Bethel Johnson to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for defensive lineman Johnathan Sullivan. The deal will be approved by the league soon. In the eyes of both teams, both players did not meet their expectations since being drafted.

Johnson was picked by the Patriots in the second round of the 2003 draft, but has only recorded 30 catches in three seasons. Meanwhile, Sullivan was a first-round pick in the 2003 draft, but only has 77 tackles over three seasons.

Johnson was featured mainly as a kickoff specialist for the Patriots. He averaged 26.2 yards a return two seasons ago, but last season, it fell to 22.4 yards per return. He hopes to spark his career again amongst receivers Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth, and Az-Zahir Hakim.

Sullivan only had 1.5 sacks in his career with the Saints. Last year, he had 29 tackles and no sacks.
