Quincy Carter won't have to worry about fighting for a backup position in the NFL this year. He'll be playing up north. Carter signed a one-year deal with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. He will arrive at their training camp in May.
"I'm proud to join the Montreal Alouettes," Carter said. "This is a great opportunity for me to do what I love best, which is to play football."
Carter led the Cowboys to the playoffs in 2003, his best season as a pro. He threw for 3,302 yards and 17 touchdowns. The following season, he was with the New York Jets as a backup and threw for 498 yards and three touchdowns.
Carter was originally a second round pick in the 2001 NFL draft. He threw 32 touchdowns and 37 interceptions during his time in the NFL.
