San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore had shoulder surgery this week to repair one of his seperated shoulders. Gore will have the same surgery on his other shoulder in about a month. Gore, who played very well this season, may be the 49ers' backup heading into next season if the team drafts a runner. If they don't draft anyone, he could very well be the starter.
Gore, a third-round pick this season, rushed for 608 yards on 127 carries, for a 4.8 average. He rushed for three touchdowns.
