The St. Louis Rams have placed starting quarterback Marc Bulger on the injured reserve due to a shoulder injury, officially ending his season. The team also placed middle linebacker Chris Claiborne on the IR.

Bulger had already missed four straight games, giving way to veteran backup QB Jamie Martin and rookie QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Although Fitzpatrick has started the past three games, he has been ineffective. Rams' interim head coach Joe Vitt has not decided whether or not he will insert Jamie Martin back in the starting lineup or not.

"We have another day of practice," Vitt said. "We're going to look at Fitz tomorrow. Fitz is a little sore."

Claiborne had sustained a knee injury, but the team had not revealed very much regarding his status until now.
