The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed running back Jamal Lewis to a three-year deal After rushing for 2,066 yards in 2003, Lewis struggled to ever get started this past season. Lewis rushed for a career-low 906 yards after undergoing right ankle surgery in the offseason.
The Ravens signed running back Mike Anderson too, whom Lewis will have to split time with now.
"We are so excited to have Jamal back," said Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome. "If you look at his history, he always rebounds in a big way from adversity. He had a tough 2005 that started with surgery, his incarceration, and then dealing with all of the turmoil during the season with the contract hanging over his head. We expect big things from him."
The Ravens are envisioning a system like the Broncos had last year, where two running backs can potentially gain close to 1,000 yards rushing.
