The Washington Redskins have signed veteran cornerack Artrell Hawkins to play as a nickel back most likely.
Hawkins spent last year with the Panthers, where he was beat about by rookie Chris Gamble for the starting role.
For six seasons before that, Hawkins played for the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played in 102 games(76 starts) with 10 interceptions. Hawkins will add depth to the Redskins defense.
