The Washington Redskins have signed backup cornerback Kenny Wright to a deal to fill the team's need for a nickel back. Wright started all 16 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars last year and did well with two interceptions.
Wright will be the third cornerback in Washington behind Shawn Springs and Carlos Rogers, who have the starting jobs locked up. The Redskins needed a nickel back after they cut Walt Harris a month ago.
The Redskins also re-signed defensive end Demetric Evans, who was a free agent. He started three games last year and recorded three sacks.
