The Washington Redskins signed linebacker Roger McIntosh on Sunday to a four-year deal. McIntosh was able to sign with the team a day before their training camp started. Although McIntosh was the team's first draft pick, he was taken in the second round with the 35th overall pick. The Redskins did not have a first-round selection.
McIntosh, at 6-foot-2 and 231 pounds, attended the University of Miami for college. Last year, he recorded 89 tackles with 5.5 sacks. McIntosh was brought in as a possible replacement for linebacker LaVar Arrington, who left in the offseason to join the New York Giants. Although McIntosh missed minicamp after minor knee surgery, he should be fine now.
"He's fine, he's ready to go," said Redskins coach Joe Gibbs.
