The New England Patriots have signed talented defensive lineman Richard Seymour to a four-year deal worth about $7 million and $8 million a year. Seymour wants to "retire as a Patriot."

Seymour was entering the final year of a six-year contract. He was scheduled to make a little over $2 million next season before signing the new deal.

"I always thought that good things come to those who wait anyway," Seymour said. "At the end of the day, when I lay my head down I want to be happy. You can have all the money in the world and not be happy."

This past season, Seymour had 47 tackles, 4 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.
