Things were starting to get good for Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams, weren't they? After his controversial leave of absence from the league, he had a solid return this past season. It looks as if it didn't last very long. The Miami Herald is reporting that Williams now faces a one-year suspension from the NFL after testing positive for drug use. This would be the fourth time that he has violated the league's substance abuse policy.
It has not yet been confirmed what substance Williams was using. In the past, he got in trouble for marijuana use.
Williams rushed for 743 yards and six touchdowns this past season while splitting time with rookie RB Ronnie Brown. Williams missed the first four games of the season to complete a suspension.
This is not the type of news the Dolphins wanted to hear after having an outstanding year under first-year head coach Nick Saban. However, if Williams is unable to play this season, at least Brown already has a year of experience under his belt.
