Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams should still be in shape despite being suspended from the NFL this season. Williams has signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, reports the Miami Herald. Williams' deal is worth about $240,000, and he will start practicing with the team right away.
The CFL voided out a possible option that Williams could've received, so that he may return to the NFL in 2007. Since he already has a contract with the Dolphins, another team can't claim him from the CFL after this season. Williams' agent, Leigh Steinberg, said that Williams has promised the Dolphins that he would return to the NFL as soon as possible. Although Williams is risking an injury in the CFL not directly related to playing with the Dolphins, he still wants to play professional football.
