Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams is getting closer and closer to his return to the NFL. Williams has reportedly gotten his weight up to 215 pounds, which is suitable enough. When training camp starts though, Williams may get the advantage over rookie Ronnie Brown.
Brown, like many other first round rookies, has yet to sign a deal with the Dolphins. It's unlikely that Brown will sign until Alex Smith, the first pick in the draft, reaches a deal with the 49'ers.
Williams will have some time to impress the team management and get used to the offense once again without Brown in his way.
When Williams was with the team two years ago, he weighed between 225 and 235 pounds. It's unlikely that he'll be able to get back to that amount before training camp.
There is a possibility that Ricky will have to wait until July 28th, so that he won't violate the leagues substance abuse policy. However, it is believed that it will be waived so that Ricky can start with the team on the 25th as scheduled.
