After making a return to the field this past week, QB Ben Roethlisberger is hoping that he won't suffer a setback due to an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand. Roethlisberger injured his thumb about ten minutes before the team's second practice of the day was scheduled to end. Before the injury, Big Ben was performing well in practice.

"I think he hit his thumb, on the next-to-last play he was in there, on a shoulder pad," said head coach Bill Cowher. "He's upstairs (in the team's facilities), so we'll look at that, assess it, and I'll probably have more information tomorrow."

Cowher stated that Roethlisberger should be fine. He already has experience with thumb problems last year, when he played through several games with a broken thumb. Roethlisberger should not have any setbacks for this week's preseason game.

PFC Fantasy News: Roethlisberger only led the Steelers to a Super Bowl last year with a thumb injury. Heck, this could be what the quarterback needs. Seriously though, there really shouldn't be any significant setbacks for Big Ben.
